Experiences

All photos were taken with either my wife’s iPhone 5 or my iPhone 5! We’ve upgraded since then!

Once the Pandemic is under control and safety precautions are in place, we hope we can get back to more experiences.

Trip of a lifetime to Graceland

I’ve been a big fan of Elvis ever since I was a little boy. I used to binge watch his movies even before I binge watching was a thing.

We were planning on going back east to visit my mom and dad, my wife suggested we fly into Memphis and take in the sites for a few days and then drive to South Carolina to see my mom and dad.

I don’t know how she knew I am big fan of Elvis!

LONG BEACH

Visiting the Queen Mary

This was a fantastic Princess Cruise down the California Coast to Ensenada.

At the time we visited the attraction was not fully ready for visitors.

There were some rough edges, mainly with the adjoining property manager was not the friendliest person but overall the Queen Mary is an interesting attraction.

Long Beach is a very beautiful area.

Taking in the beauty of Ensenada

This was a fantastic Princess Cruise down the California Coast to Ensenada.

Everyone was super friendly.

The only thing that I have to complain about was the long walk from where our tour bus parked to the Sea Geyser. You have to accept that this is a tourist trap, the walk takes you down the only street which is a gauntlet of vendors trying to sell to you.

Once you get to Geyser you should be aware that the facilities cost around 50 cents to use the bathroom and you get one sheet of paper towel for around 25 cents a sheet. But overall this is very beautiful place.

Taking in the sites and some of that world famous Memphis Barbecue at B.B. Kings on Beale Street and the music was fantastic.

KETCHIKAN

Getting set for ride a with the dogs.

Wonderful Princess Cruise to Alaska.

This is a dog sledding training camp to get the dogs ready for the Iditarod and other dog sled races.

The camp provides visitors the chance to experience a real dog sled race, limited of course.

Tourist income helps to keep the camp running and provides the dogs the social experience they need with humans.

It was a lot of fun!

VICTORIA

Seeing the sites in Victoria.

Wonderful Princess Cruise to Alaska.

Even though it was a dreary day, Victoria Canada is one the most beautiful cities and the people are really friendly. We had a wonderful time here.

Glacier Bay

Wonderful Princess Cruise to Alaska.

This is a site I believe everyone should see at least once. You can hear the thunderous cracking and popping of the glacier as it is constantly moving, at a very slow pace, but it is constantly moving into the Glacier Bay.

You can spot whales as the ship makes it’s way to the glacier and seals are also nearby.

Surprisingly with all the ice and snow you would expect it to be freezing but it was really comfortable with just a sweater, but of course we stayed on our balcony on the ship and did not go on the ice.

I know the Tongass National Forrest is around here somewhere!

Wonderful Princess Cruise to Alaska.

The Tongass National Forrest is just down the hill from the Dog Sled camp.
